During April, McLaren Asset Management’s sister company, McLaren Wealth Management, finally, after three years of trying, obtained a licence from La Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores, the Spanish regulator for banking, fund management and Independent Financial Advisors. While much of our business is still insurance based (single premium life ‘bonds’, cover for inheritance tax, keyman and critical illness), it is not always appropriate to invest through an insurance wrapper, and therefore we felt it would be wise to obtain a full IFA licence from the ‘CNMV’. Neither company will handle client money (as currently) and both will continue to offer impartial and unbiased advice. We are working on a new website to include both companies which will be ready soon. Markets paused for breath during the last week of April, but we expect corporate earnings optimism to resume and for US, Asian and European equities to move higher. With best wishes for the Summer season.
