The S&P500 index rose 24% in 2023 but was up 18% since the last week of October. It is up 158% over the last 10 years. 2022 and 2023 until the end of October were tough years to be in the markets but then suddenly they ignited, emphasising the importance of staying invested over the long term, throughout the ups and downs.
In the same vein, propelled principally by the magnificent seven (TSLA up 102% , NVDA up 239%, AMZN 81%, META 194%, and AAPL, GOOGL and MSFT each up 50%), the Nasdaq100 tech index rose more than 54%, its best year since 1999.
